The YADEI is a research- and solution-based organization dedicated to advancing good governance, inclusive leadership, and sustainable citizens’ welfare in Nigeria. Established to address systemic governance challenges and welfare deprivation, YADEI promotes citizen-centered development through evidence-based interventions and civic empowerment.
YADEI, the promoter of the Nigerian Citizens Good Governance Initiative, was incorporated in June 2012 by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). Since its establishment, the Initiative has focused on strengthening democratic governance by building platforms that enable citizens to engage constructively with public institutions and participate meaningfully in decision-making processes.
In response to evolving global development priorities, YADEI has adopted and integrated the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a strategic framework for achieving its objectives. By aligning its programs with relevant SDGs—particularly those relating to poverty reduction, quality education, gender equality, decent work, reduced inequalities, peace, justice, and strong institutions—YADEI ensures that its interventions are globally relevant, measurable, and sustainable, using the Community Board strategy.
YADEI’s core mandates include the development of citizens’ welfare platforms, capacity-building and leadership training for citizens, and policy-oriented research aimed at improving governance outcomes. Through advocacy, training, community engagement, and strategic partnerships with public and private stakeholders, YADEI works to translate the SDGs into practical, locally driven solutions that improve the quality of life for citizens.
By embedding the SDGs into its operational framework, YADEI strengthens accountability, enhances impact assessment, and contributes to national and global efforts toward sustainable development and responsible governance.
